Some of the earliest references to playing cards date to the 1400s and are for th banning of cards in the work place. One city even declared them illegal! The games people were playing in those days were not poker and bridge but were more than likely tarot card games. Instead of the 52+joker decks that are common throughout the world today, the first card games were played with decks that had as few as 32 or as many as 78 cards. Thiscelebrates the players who have kept these traditions alive. To learn more, visit the sites on the Tarock Web!
