The Golden Age of Railroading Members of thismodel or are interested in railroading's truly Golden Age, 1860 to 1910. This was the era of small engines with shining paint and polished brass, when passenger trains were truly called "varnish."
For example: The Carillon & Grenville Railway - A history of the Carillon & Grenville Railway, Canada's last broad gauge railway. Also covered is the subsequent re-use of part of the right of way by the Canadian Northern Railway and its abandonment under Canadian National Railways.
