Self Injury

The purpose of this community is to provide support and answers to those who are cutters, self-injurers, and/or self-mutilators. There are specific reasons why people do this and it is NOT an issue of suicide. Self-injury is a coping mechanism, a way to gain relief from otherwise overwhelming emotions. Self-injurers are not alone in their addictive behavior than can be controlled.
For example: mindunite.com - we are a community support site and forum focused on those who bravely battle mental illness and its effects upon their lives. membership is not exclusive to only those diagnosed with mental illness, but for those countless thousands who are currently undiagnosed and for the friends and family of all.
