Q: What is LotsaSites?
A: LotsaSites is the latest directory of topics to hit the internet. LotsaSites users submit, rank and review sites, creating one of the few truly user-generated site directories on the web. At LotsaSites, users are in control, not some corporate algorithm.
Q: Is there a fee for submitting URLs?
A: Nope. LotsaSites is 100% FREE!!!
Q: Do I have to create an account to use LotsaSites?
A: Nope. You can search for, submit, rank and review sites just as you are.
Q: What makes a site rank as "King of the Hill"?
A: Visits to the site. You see, if people like going to a site we feel it must have value. So, the most recently visited sites rise to the top, while those that have not been visited lately sink to the bottom.
Q: What makes a site ""?
A: Lack of activity mostly.
Q: What is a "Recent Arrival"?
A. A recently submitted site that has not received enough attention to be "King of the Hill" yet.
Q: How long do sites remain "Recent"?
A: Not long :)
Q: How can I get more people to visit my site?
A: Adding it to a few topics, then spread the word to others you know.
Q: Do you have an affiliate program?
A: Not currently, but we might create one in the future if the public demands it.
Q: How much does it cost to make my site "King of the Hill"?
A: Nothing. Just get people, friends and family, to come visit and rate your site.
Q: Can I pay to have my site promoted on LotsaSites?
A: You don't need to pay us, but you're free to pay your friends to vote for your site!
Q: Do I have to own a site to submit it?
A: No way! LotsaSites is a user-generated listing of the best sites on the web.
Q: How do I create a new topic?
A: That's coming soon. For now find the best match you can.
Q: How do I submit a URL?
A: Click on the "submit URL" button on the top of any LotsaSites page. If you're on a topic that suits the site, great. If not, try from the LotsaSites front page and we'll find a topic for you!
Q: The suggested topics don't seem right for the URL I want to submit. What should I do?
A: Use the LotsaSites search or directory to look for a good one, then use the Submit URL button on that topic page. The system will still recommend some, but will show the one you came in from first.
You might also take note of what it recommends and adjust your title and description more accurately reflect the topic of the site.
Q: Does the search box look for topics or sites or both?
A: Both. If you're on a specific topic already it searches for sites on that topic. If not, it searches the system for topics.
